Leeds Woodland Workshop 27th of September
Are you looking for free events that will get you and your family outdoors and connecting with nature this summer? Do you want to learn more about how you can effectively advocate for the things you care about? Whether its climate change, SEND reform or something else that you're passionate about, we want to help you have your voice heard by those in power.
This event is especially designed for families caring for children with SEND. We'll look at how we can best push for political change on SEND issues and how this can link to wider efforts to tackle climate change.
On the 27th of September join us in Middleton Park, Leeds, for a family friendly day out in the woods where you can have fun AND make a positive difference.

Where:
Join us in the beautiful Middleton Park Leeds. We'll meet next to the visitor's centre before heading into the woods for the workshop.
When:
The event will run from 10.30am - 12.30pm.
Gather with us at 10.30pm for a Woodland Workshop, an interactive session providing children the chance to play in nature, and adults the chance to share their hopes for the future and learn new skills in engaging with politicians to advocate for change. We'll look at how we can effectively push for change on the issues we care about in our area while kids get stuck into woodland crafts and activities.
Accessibility:
Our events have been designed with accessibility as a priority and are tailor made to be a welcoming space for disabled children. There will be an accessible toilet nearby, a designated quiet space in case anyone feels overwhelmed, and ear protectors provided for anyone who needs them. The shows and workshops are run by teams that understand that kids all have their own needs and ways of participating. If your child needs to make some noise, take some time away or run around the woods, we understand and won’t be phased.
Travel costs:
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery we are also able to compensate some travel costs for each family attending in the form of a voucher that can be used in supermarkets.
We'll meet everyone next to the visitor's centre. The workshop will start at 10.30am so please arrive at 10.15am and we can make sure we are ready to go on time.
