Accessibility Statement
We want everyone who visits the Hope For The Future website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
What are we doing?
To help us make our website a positive place for everyone, we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user-friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for our website.
Accessibility status
We are working hard to achieve our goal of WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but we recognise that some areas may still need improvement.
Current known limitations:
Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.
Some of our third-party video embeds may lack synchronised closed captions.
We are actively working to resolve these issues as part of our ongoing digital updates.
WCAG 2.2 specific focus areas
In alignment with the newer WCAG 2.2 standard, we pay special attention to ensuring that:
Interactive elements (like buttons and links) have sufficient target size so they are easy to click or tap without accidental inputs.
Users can navigate and complete forms without being blocked by unexpected focus changes or repetitive authentication loops.
Keyboard focus is always clearly visible when navigating through pages without a mouse.
