As people who care about the climate, we know that the record-breaking heatwaves the UK has seen this summer aren’t usual, they’re the products of our society's reliance on fossil fuels. 🌡️🌡️🌡️

As the second heatwave of the summer progressed, bringing undue stress to everything from the NHS and the fire service, to schools, transport and the general vibe, it was hard not to feel hopeless. As the saying goes, welcome to the coldest summer of the rest of your life…

But it doesn’t need to be like this. Join this lunchtime mini-workshop from Hope for the Future to find out how you can turn your experiences in the heatwave into an effective political engagement with your Member of Parliament. ✊✊✊

We’ll be covering: 

• The simplest ways to contact your representative  📞✉️

• How to turn your experience during the heatwave into political action🍳

• Our top tips for giving your interaction lasting impact by making a political ask of your politicians✊

We know that in weather like this it can be hard to sit on a zoom call for too long, which is why we’re making this workshop short, sharp and to the point. After the 30 minutes you’ll come away with a clear idea of how to reclaim your democratic power and fight to ensure that future summers will be more bearable.
